Mercado Dos De Mayo.

On saturday I went to de Dos De Market, at Plaza Dos de Mayo. You have like 2 "sections", one with second-hand things and another with design things. It's every saturday this month and in June. From 12:30 to 21:00 (First it was said that only to 17:00). In the design sections you can find really nice things, I really liked a t-shirt stand, the brand was Hi-Hirvi, really good!! Other brand where Julieta Aytas, she has some nice paintings, you could find a lot of jewelery like IsanaMumu.Joyas and Mora Efron, Another t-shirt brand, really nice was Pandarman which have also a lot of cool pins. Clothes, Puracostura Vintage and clothes and accessories for children, Ponytail. There where other brands too and all of them very nice and with beautiful/cool stuff.

A good plan!

If you want to do something original you have to go to "Pinta en Copas", Calle Velarde 3. You buy a piece of something, a cup, a bowl... and then you paint on the thing. Meanwhile you take a cup of coffee, tea, a soda...! A funny date maybe??

Madrid's Museums - Today is "El Dia de los Museos"

Here is a list of Madrid's museums for the art-interessted people and what better day to post this than today when its museum day! Todays it's free!


Museo del Prado - Paseo del Prado (Villanueva Building) One of the most important museums in Europe, a lot of paintings and sculptures... Has a lot of spanish painters from the romantics to 19th century, Velazquez and Goya for example, but they have also some flemish, french, italian, german and english artist. Rubens, Bosch... The entrance is free from tuesdays to saturdays from 18:00 - 20:00 and sundays from 17:00 - 20:00, otherwise its 6 euros. 
Reina Sofia - Calle Santa Isabel 52, Contemporary and modern art, Abstract, Pop, and Minimal Art movements. Picasso's famous Guernica, Miro, Dali, Bacon. Free entrance on saturdays from 14:30 - 21:00 and sundays from 10:00 - 14:30, other days 6 euros. Always free entrance for children under 18 years old, teachers and pensioners. 
Thyssen - Paseo del Prado 8, Thyssen Museum has a lot of important private art collections. Western Art, Pop Art, Italian painters... Paintings from 17th century to 20th century, Van Eyck, Van Gogh, Cezanne, some Picasso, Miro, Dali, Pollock... Entrance 6 euros and reduced for senior citizens and students.
Museo Academia Bellas Artes - Calle Alcala 13, Picasso and Dali where students at this academy, now you can find Van Dyck, Rubens, Raphael, Titian... El Greco, Velazquez, Ribera, Murillo, Zurbaran... And a room full of Goya. Entrance 3 euros, discounts to students, pensioners and kids under 18.
Museo Arqueológico Nacional - Calle Serrano 13, the museum is also the National Library of Spain, with million books and newspapers, photographs, and Spain's most important collections of drawings and engraving, maps... The museums has a lot of sculptures, treaseurs, discovered and important exhibits...

Museo de America - Avenida Reyes Catolicos 6, collection of over 25,000 artefacts, mostly from South and Central America, but also from the northern part of the continent. Entrance 3 euros.

Collection of Style

Did you know that COS is a H&M brand? It's finally in Madrid now! I would say it's a better, much better H&M, but of course, a little more expensive but still very good prices. The shop is in Calle Claudio Coello 53-55. 





Dosde!

If you want to go to a market full och design things, vintage, art etc. you can't miss Dosde Market. It's in La Plaza Dos de Mayo in Malasaña and it's every saturday in May and June.
